Government is the Problem

The Harris-Walz Version of Big Brother

Harris wants more government. She plans an expansive federal administration with increasing control over U.S. citizens. To get there, she will take away reliable energy and heating along with gas stoves and gasoline-powered cars. Harris will continue massive government spending to fuel ongoing inflation, a tax with the greatest impact on the poor and middle class. I can imagine that she might even have a “Ministry of Plenty,” modeled after the one described in George Orwell’s classic book “1984,” to ensure there is always rationing, scarcity and starvation.

Harris will take over communications and censor those with whom she disagrees. After all, the Biden-Harris Administration’s Department of Homeland Security has already created the Disinformation Governance Board. Though this modern-day “Ministry of Truth” was terminated in 2022 after widespread criticism, she may try to resurrect it. Harris will, of course, continue the collusion between the feds and social media that she and Biden initiated to take away the free speech rights of dissidents and conservative voices.

Harris is also in favor of dismantling the U.S. Constitution. She plans to end the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, stage a federal takeover of elections, and convert the reliably left-wing District of Columbia into a 51st state. In addition, Harris wants to void our Second Amendment right to bear arms, outlaw private healthcare, and take away our right to make our own healthcare decisions without government interference.

As columnist Kim Strassel said in a recent issue of the Wall Street Journal:

Harris will give Americans the “opportunity” to choose whatever Democrats decide is best for them.

“Opportunity economy” is the Harris-Walz Newspeak phrase for this.

Similarly, Harris’ pick for vice-president, Tim Walz, is a government man. His mannerisms resemble Big Brother, the totalitarian leader on the telescreen in every room in George Orwell’s classic book “1984.” Skilled at Newspeak, which features a great many euphemisms—pleasant-sounding words that conceal something upsetting or unpleasant—Walz would make a very good Big Brother. He conceivably might sic the Thought Police on people who don’t conform to politically correct speech, perhaps sending them to the “Ministry of Love” (a torture chamber run by secret police). As Walz emphasized on debate night: “Hate speech should be censored.”

Who decides what constitutes “hate speech”? The government, of course.

Americans should be afraid when they hear Harris or Walz say: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” The government is the problem. If elected, Harris and Walz will make government bigger and more authoritarian. They plan to destroy our constitutional republic and replace it, step by step, with a totalitarian regime akin to George Orwell’s classic novel.
